What can you expect from 1:1?

I'm Lowri

I'm a Yoga teacher, and been a yoga practitioner for over 20 years. A few years back I had a back injury, a prolapsed disc which made me dependent on painkillers for over 12 months...not long after I suffered an ankle fracture and sprain. I have used yoga and strength training to heal my injuries and completely surpass my previous level of fitness and flexibility and want to share that experience with others.

I believe in being a life-long learner!

Thus I have a qualification in Thai Yoga Massage from the School of Traditional Medicine in Bangkok as well as a BSc equivalent in Medical Science from Birmingham Medical School. I graduated with a BDS from University of Wales Medical School and have an MFDS from The Royal College of Surgeons.  I trained as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Adviser with Nordic Fitness Education and my particular interest is in Longevity Medicine and Research so recently enrolled with the Zoe Nutritional Research Project.

As well as coaching I work as an Associate Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Honorary Clinical Tutor at Cardiff University where I have been involved with Educational Research with the Academic Association of OMFS surgeons as well as audits and clinical governance projects.

I love to combine innovation with the traditional, acknowledging that much of the knowledge we possess today simply confirms what the Yogi's instinctively knew - how to live well, feel good and move as we did when we were children, this is most definitely THE REAL FLEX in life!

If you don't already have a resistance training schedule then my job is to break it all down for you and create a truly custom plan which focuses on you, your goals, lifestyle, available time and ability.

Easy to follow, concise training that will see you progressing every week. Learn exactly what to lift, when to lift whether that's with equipment at home or in the Gym, and when you're travelling you can use your own body weight.

Yoga and Mobility

Yoga teaches you to challenge yourself intelligently and completely without being overly aggressive. The slow and steady techniques decrease your injury risk in other sports and day-to-day life.

Regular practice trains you how to move and train without overloading your muscles and joints. It stretches out important muscles in your back, legs and arms that can help ease chronic pain. It works your body hard, without wrecking it.

I will look at your lifestyle, stresses, habits, sleep and nutrition. Together we will identify strengths and weaknesses and how this can be impacting your current and long term health and fitness goals.

We will then implement evidenced based biohacks to help you overcome hurdles to fat loss and muscle gain. We will use mindfulness techni yes to reduce anxiety, stress and improve your sleep.
